In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “A House Divided.”
Keep in mind that I am not racist but I am expressing my beliefs.
In defense of the fraternity boys.
In their defense they should be able to have a fraternity that is just white men. If there are black people that would want an all black fraternity then they would get it. In the white guys defense, they were drunk and they were expressing their feelings. It is true that when people are drunk they tend to tell the truth and how they really feel. Why is it fair that when black people want something to themselves it’s not racist, but when a white person does it is. If you think about it, there are things out there like scholarships that you can not find for a white male only. So in defense of the males on the bus, they were just expressing their feelings.
Against the fraternity boys
The boys on bus were completely rude. Like suck it up and let people in. The color of the person shouldn’t matter because on the inside everyone is the same in a sense. We have the same organs that do the same functions. It is they’re fault for expressing their beliefs while drunk because that is not the right way to do it. What they said they shouldn’t have because you can’t just go hang someone and have it be all right. They deserved to be kicked out of that college.
My own thoughts on it
What these boys did was wrong, so wrong on so many levels, but they do not deserved to be hated nation wide by it. They didn’t need to shout the things that they did or threaten, but they were drunk. I understand where they are coming from though because you look at things in the world it isn’t fair. Like the riot in Ferguson, they destroys a town, but it’s okay because you’re black and you were expressing your feelings. Then there’s the scholarships that a black person would get it over a white person because or their color. If you want people to stop judging you by your color then stop taking advantage of it. Either have it one way or another.
Wouldn’t you agree?
